Michael D. Larson, DDS, MSD
Being a native of Northern California, it is a real joy to serve the patients of our community. I have a strong desire to improve the lives of those around me, and the skills to follow through. Who can ask for more than that? With a combination of personal care for my patients, treatments utilizing the most advanced technology, and a strong continuing orthodontic education, I maintain a commitment to providing the highest quality treatments available.
Background and Education
I was born and raised in Corning, California, and earned my Bachelors of Science in Physiology at the University of California, Davis. I then attended the University of California, San Francisco, where I graduated with my DDS. Afterwards, I received my Certificate and Masters of Science in Dentistry degree from the Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education.
Continuing Education
In order to provide superior service and comprehensive results, I am committed to staying at the forefront of orthodontic science by attending numerous continuing education courses. I also stay current with the latest orthodontic research and techniques to straighten teeth as quickly and effectively as possible. My continuing education includes multiple online courses, weekend seminars, and as a member of orthodontic organizations and societies. I am always on the lookout for new ways to improve the comfort and efficiency of my patients’ orthodontic experience.
Professional Affiliations
As a part of the orthodontic field, I am active in the following professional organizations:

In The Practice
As an orthodontist, the best part of my job is helping to build self-esteem in my patients. For patients of all ages, a new smile can mean a boost in self-confidence, which brings a positive change to their lives! There is nothing as fulfilling as seeing a patient’s proud smile at the end of treatment, especially if they came to their first appointment shy about showing their teeth.
I am fortunate to have found orthodontics as a profession, as it has become extremely rewarding for my patients and for myself. I believe a good orthodontist must possess several attributes: communicating well with patients, understanding of teeth movement and spacing, and commitment to perfection. My dedication to improving facial aesthetics and promoting overall long-term oral health has become my foundation for a great practice.
I tailor each treatment plan to achieve my patient’s desired results. I take pride in each treatment, and use only the highest quality appliances and the latest technology to produce perfect smiles and happy patients!
Family and Community
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my fiancée, Jessica. We enjoy physical fitness and visits to cultural and science museums. I am also a bit of a gear-head with a strong motivation towards rebuilding and restoring automobiles and motorcycles. I appreciate the challenge, imagine the end result, and plan each precise step. I also travel frequently to my father’s olive ranch to assist in the family business. Much of my time there involves a heavy emphasis on automotive and equipment repairs, including welding and rebuilding engines.
I believe that businesses should have a positive impact on the communities they serve. In our practice, we dedicate ourselves to earning the trust and respect of our patients, schools, service organizations, youth programs and our neighbors. I am committed to helping create a thriving community. Yuba City Orthodontics embraces the responsibility to be good neighbors in this community!

Hi, my name is Alena, I have worked for Dr. Larson since April 2014 in the back as an RDA. I absolutely love seeing patients’ reactions after getting their braces off. It is such a rewarding job.
My husband Bobby and I have a daughter Laynee, and a Yorkie named Cooper. Laynee was born in November of 2021 so we have our hands full and wouldn’t have it any other way. It took 8 years to get her so we enjoy every moment we can. We enjoy taking our razor out to the dunes at Sand Mountain/Oregon to ride the sand and trails and camp. When I am not with my family, I enjoy cleaning my house, yes, you read that right, cleaning, organizing, and going through shops.

Hello – my name is Carrie, and I am the Treatment Coordinator at Larson Orthodontics. I have been in the dental and healthcare industries for almost 25 years. I joined the Larson Orthodontic team in the summer of 2022. One of my favorite aspects of the job is being able to show people how they can achieve the smile they have always wanted. I also love being able to help our younger patients not be afraid of the unknown and get them excited about the process of straightening their teeth.
When I am not working, I’m taking way too many pictures of my dogs and share them with anyone who will look.
